Excellent plan. Plenty of room for the whole family while you find yourself at the same time. Congratulations!

... and who said sticking with a plan is the mark of a grown up? Making them is all that's needed to set your intention, it seems to me -- then the Universe is afoot from there. Live life with intention (like being a more-than-excellent-and-flexible parent) and the rest will unfold. Praying is good, too. My 2¢.

Not exactly a Stalin 5 year plan, but ambitious none-the-less. Good luck and we hope to be there for at least some of your great leap forward. Congratulations you breeder.

Well, from the vantage point of my dotage, and having just launched the easiest teen ever, I'd say keep doing what you're doing: inquiring as to their inner landscape, actively demonstrating your unconditional love, and modeling integrity and authenticity. Then, if the shit hits the middle-aged fan, you can always read in The Prophet that they were never really yours after all.

Thank you Lara.

I was told by the neurologists at Children's that the "free seizure" thing went up to about 15, which comports with other searches I have done on the topic.

But I don't know what that means post puberty - maybe it's that a post puberty seizure is not necessarily unprovoked, and may mean that because the person experienced a seizure that there is indeed some kind of medical issue.

Thank you for sharing this, Matt. Someone experiencing the horror you just experienced is going to stumble upon this during a Google search and thank you for being the guardian angel that you are for taking the time to post this.

One question, not sure if you can answer this -- is the "one free seizure" end at a certain age? Is this a good cheat sheet for parents of children under a particular age? If someone has an unprovoked seizure post-puberty, is there more cause for concern?
